OUR JOURNEY

Floating City Limited, A Start up registered in Companies House ,128 City Road, London, United Kingdom,EC1V 2NX.

Creating an ideal place to live or run a business, a friendly, safe and secure community with large areas of open space and extensive entertainment and recreational facilities. Finally, picture this community continually moving around the world. You are beginning to understand the Floating City concept of an ocean-going vessel. Floating City would be more than 4 times longer than the Queen Mary. The design concepts include a mobile modern city featuring luxurious living, an extensive duty-free international shopping mall, and a full 2.0 million square foot floor set aside for various companies to showcase their products.

Floating City would would be more than a cruise ship, it is proposed to be a unique place to live, work, retire, vacation, or visit. The proposed voyage would continuously circle the globe, covering most of the world's coastal regions. Its large fleet of commuter aircraft and hydrofoils would ferry residents and visitors to and from shore. The airport on the ship's top deck would serve private and small commercial aircraft (up to about 40 passengers each). The proposed vessel's superstructure, rising twenty-five stories above its broad main deck, would house residential space, a library, schools, and a first-class hospital in addition to retail and wholesale shops, banks, hotels, restaurants, entertainment facilities, casinos, offices, warehouses, and light manufacturing and assembly enterprises. Finally, this concept would include a wide array of recreational and athletic facilities, worthy of a world-class resort, making Floating City a veritable "City at Sea."

Risks and challenges

Floating City will be one of the largest manmade structures in existence and, subsequently, one of the most photographed as well. One can look at pictures of the ship and begin to imagine what it will look like built. It will be an architectural mesh of glass, steel, and other materials carefully sculpted into a city roughly 1394 Meter long, 230 Meter wide, and 110 Meter high where 100,000 people are present at any given moment. However, what will life be like aboard Floating City?

All thriving metropolitan areas share three main characteristics that attract people to work, live, and raise a family. There must be a thriving commercial district capable of supplying the labor force with employment; furthermore, the area must also have an adequate transport infrastructure to move goods and allow people easy access to every necessity for daily living. There must be a solid school system and highly qualified professionals to allow parents an attractive place to raise a family. Finally, there must be adequate healthcare facilities and professionals to provide their services when needed. If a metropolitan area contains these three main "keys" then the city will thrive and, in the case of Floating City, the "key" to the real estate owned by our residents and business owners will be worth more as the value of the property appreciates over time. FCL is dedicated to providing a thriving commercial district with adequate transportation infrastructure, the world's finest school system, and world-class healthcare facilities.

We take this opportunity to apprise all of you on the progress we have made at the design and construction of the largest floating community in the world. The very latest news about this project is that we have registered the company under the name of Floating City Limited in London and going forward we expect this to be the name of our project. This is so done to enable more transparency and accountability for this global project. The second update is that some investors have shown great interest in the project and have informed us that they can back us up moreover we have also heard from the UN stating that we can approach them once the project is finalized for other support from them. So basically it has been a great momentum after the setting up of the organization in the UK and we are also looking forward with great enthusiasm at renewing the project in a new country.

We thank you all for the overwhelming support that we have been receiving for this project and your encouragement is what keeps us going forward. For taking the project to the next level of completing the feasibility study we are looking for additional funds as this study is expected to be a long drawn-out activity considering the size of the ship and should realistically take about a couple of years time. Since this is a project that could have global ramifications we are currently looking to rework some parts of the project to make it more eco-friendly by reducing our carbon footprint to the minimum. The idea is to try and take advantage of the development in technology in the past few years, even if some of the projects might not be really ready by the time our ship is launched we are trying to change our design to try and incorporate them as and when they are commercially viable. As we mentioned earlier it’s better to have a safe ship intended for a longer term than to skip procedures. As you may know we are a dedicated team who will leave no stone unturned to give our community members the very best. We are currently looking to rope in experts from different parts of the globe to implement these novel ideas.

We have so far completed the basic design of the ship and are looking to move towards the formal feasibility study of our project with a very reputed classification society. Once the classification society gives us their stamp of approval we will move forward with the bookings and subsequently start the construction of the ship. We truly understand that the project was long overdue and has cost overruns to it but we believe in giving the very best to our fellow community members hence our motto is that its better late than sorry. Just for the information of our well-wishers the current cabin design of the ship is as follows: Super Deluxe Cabins: 1,344 Nos. on Deck 25 26VIP Cabins: 9,624 Nos. on Deck 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 Standard Cabins: 22,644 Nos. on Deck 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. There are a total of 2,264 cabins with Balcony on the ship. Every deck is facilitated with dedicated spaces for Restaurants, Coffee Shops and Bars. All the facilities details can be studied in detail from the specification sheet that will be provided to every member.

Sustainable Distribution

The infrastructure of Floating City contains various transportation systems and facilities necessary to move people and goods on and off the ship as well as transportation aboard the ship. The three main forms of transportation are the airport, the port authority (marina), and the onboard subway system. One can use the airport and port authority to embark or disembark the ship at their convenience. Residents and business owners are only minutes away from a constantly changing environment and have the ability to see the beauty of the world. The airport will be located on the top deck of the ship. The size of the ship will provide a stable and appropriately sized runway for small commuter and cargo aircraft and helicopters. Current specifications allow for aircraft as large as a STOL turboprop capable of carrying 38 to 40 passengers. Insulation and proper design will shield the residential and commercial districts of the ship from noise associated with airport operations. However, if engineering and management find noise to be detrimental to the overall quality of life aboard Floating City then the airport will be redesigned to facilitate helicopters only with the remaining real estate used as an additional nature preserve.

FCL will operate a fleet of aircraft; however, residents are encouraged to own and operate their private aircraft, helicopters and most advanced flying electric cars. Hanger space below the flight deck will be available for lease to residents and visitors. A flight school will operate on the ship as well. The port authority will be located at the stern of the ship. The stability of the ship in rough seas combined with the size of the port authority will allow for a constant flow of people to embark and disembark the ship. FCL will own and operate a fleet of Coast Guard approved Subchapter Cruise ferries capable of carrying 1500 passengers each and leaving the ship every 20 minutes. Although space is limited, residents will be able to dry-dock their own vessels aboard the ship as well.

Although FCL has finalized the design, it is feasible to have car ferries dock in the port authority and provide residents with the opportunity to lease space available in the hull of the ship for vehicle storage. Residents would be able to own their vehicles and drive them up onto a ferry and off onto land wherever they chose. Such a design would provide unparalleled opportunities to further travel and explore every region of the world.

The onboard subway system will provide residents and visitors with the ability to quickly reach any portion of the ship in a timely manner. It is important to note that visitors will not have access to residential districts aboard the ship. The transportation systems and commercial districts are two of many factors anticipated to promote the appreciation of real estate values aboard Floating City-City at Seas.

Something else ?

The commercial hub at sea would be designed in Floating City will provide business owners and professionals an unparalleled atmosphere in which to conduct business. Residents, crew, daily and overnight visitors will shop in an environment of architectural beauty and convenience. Although final drawings have not been released to the public, the commercial hub will depict many of the same architectural features as a large commercial hub in a major city. There will be streets and blocks (or districts) within the commercial area of the ship. Each district will depict a different architectural theme; as one walks through the city one feels as though they are walking around the world. The real estate sold in various districts will cater to different forms of commerce from professional offices and corporate world headquarters for major international corporations, to retail and open-air markets, to restaurant facilities. Real estate will be developed to facilitate specific forms of commerce indicative to various cultures from around the world. A truly global and international business community will flourish aboard, as goods from ashore are constantly being bought and sold. In addition, real estate is available for light manufacturing, industrial, and warehousing applications. Restaurants aboard the ship will provide fresh cuisine from around the world in atmospheres ranging from fast food to true fine dining at tables with unparalleled ocean views.

An elegant, world-class 7 Star & 5 Star hotel and casino will also be operating aboard with a large convention center capable of hosting sporting and entertainment events and trade shows…a place truly worthy of hosting The World's Fair. People will have access to various history, technology, and art museums aboard as well as under water aquariums and nature preserves featuring exotic plants and animals from around the world. The commercial hub at sea will sustain a population of 100,000 people comprised of 45,000 residents, 20,000 full time crew, 35,000 daily visitors along with overnight guests to the hotel and casino. FCL is committed to providing residential cruising Experience while you work live and retire and other individuals with an environment capable of sustaining a vibrant commercial community. Your imagination is the limit when it comes to operating a business aboard. We desire to foster the entrepreneurial spirit within our residents and business owners and will strive to help them whenever possible. It is the people who own and visit the real estate in Floating City –The City At Seas that create a truly unique environment.
